What the free Monday list looks like

A real example, as it would have gone out on Monday 2 November 2026 to a small grounds maintenance firm near Cambridge. Every list is written for one firm's trade and area, and kept short.

Subject: 3 open grounds tenders near you, plus one coming
Hi Sam, here's this week's list. I've read the documents where they're public, so the dates below are the real ones.

Open now

  1. Cottenham Parish Council: grass cutting, recreation ground and village maintenance. About £54k in three separate quotes (bid for one, two or all three), for 2027 with options to 2029. Quality 60%, cost 40%. Real deadline: noon Fri 13 Nov, on paper to the Clerk. The notice says the 16th, but that's when the envelopes are opened.
Verdict: worth a look if you can be on site every week of the season. References are a fifth of the marks. Notice
  2. Rochford District Council: tree and grounds maintenance across the district. About £420k over five years from April 2027. Marked as suitable for small firms. Price 50%, quality 45%, social value 5%. Closes noon Tue 24 Nov.
Verdict: a solid five-year anchor contract if you have arboricultural staff. Price-heavy, so know your day rates. Notice
  3. Cambridgeshire County Council: tree and woodland assessments. About £65k, January to March 2027. Woodland condition surveys of council-owned woods, plus a countywide tree, woodland and hedgerow survey. Quality 70%, price 30%. Closes noon Wed 25 Nov.
Verdict: a survey job, not a cutting job. Good if you have a qualified arboriculturist and ecology support. Notice
